Spotted Deer Sighting

Saturday morning, Mandy and I were on our way to spend the day at a women's retreat. The topic was how to have a grateful heart. Before we even got there we were grateful to have the privilege of seeing this beautiful spotted deer. We have heard stories about her, and Mandy had seen her briefly, once, but this time, she graciously posed for two pictures before she turned and strutted away. We were honored!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTTY!

In case you didn't know, Scott is a big fan of Garfield

Scott celebrated his 8th Birthday, yesterday. 8 years old and still no place to call home (legally, that is). This was his third birthday we have celebrated with him.

Earth Day Service Video

Some of the girls from Evonne's choir, and kids from two other choirs, sang for our Earth Day service at church this morning.

Fun with Alex

Stephanie's spring break

Stephanie came home for spring break last week, and left yesterday to spend the last of her break with her friend, Emily. It's always great and never boring to have Stephanie home, but now we need a spring break! We love ya Steph:)!

Scott update #3

The meeting for Friday has been postponed until, probably, next week. It hasn't been rescheduled, yet. I asked for at least 15 minutes of time to have our say. The postponement will give Doug and I a chance to better prepare what we want to express. Prayers are always welcome!

Larry the Hedgehog's Big Adventure

As some of you know, we have a hedgehog named, Larry (but who doesn't). He lives in a large plastic container and eats cat food. In the wild he would be out foraging for bugs to eat and probably live under a log. Well, he got a chance to walk on the, "wild side" yesterday, because we finally got some sunshine! He had fun, but he seemed to be happier to be back in his plastic container with his cat food. The grass is always greener........

Happy Anniversary!

Today was our 28th anniversary. We celebrated by leaving our children in the capable hands of Mandy and Alex. Yesterday we went to another workshop. The topic of this one was trauma (we chose this because we are raising children who have suffered trauma, not because we've been married for 28 years). After the workshop, we checked into a hotel and spent the night all by ourselves. When we sat in bed in the morning, no little person came in uninvited and jumped in between us, no Beagles came in to see where their breakfast was, no cats scratched on the door, and nobody was fighting in the kitchen. It was wonderful, for one night, and now it's good to be home. They all did well, and there were no casualties, so maybe we'll do that again!

Jesus, Friend of Sinners by Casting Crowns

Jesus, friend of sinners, we have strayed so far away
We cut down people in your name but the sword was never ours to swing
Jesus, friend of sinners, the truth's become so hard to see
The world is on their way to You but they're tripping over me
Always looking around but never looking up I'm so double minded
A plank eyed saint with dirty hands and a heart divided

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to the world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9Kcm2OAWNA
