SHE'S HOME!!!!

It has taken 10 1/2 years for her to make it here, but she is finally HOME!

We will have a lot of work ahead of us convincing her that she REALLY is HOME.

There is a lot of damage to undo, but we signed up for whatever it takes. She's worth it!

She spent four hours unpacking her car load of stuff she has collected over her many moves.

She only stopped, briefly, for a little tether ball and ping pong.  She just wanted to get settled.

WELCOME HOME, ALANNA!  WE LOVE YOU!  FOREVER!  IT'S TIME!

"Is It Time?"

A child sat on Jesus' lap in the the splendor of heaven. The child asked, "Is it time?" Jesus parted the clouds, looked and said, "No, not yet child." The child asked, "When will it be time?" Jesus replied, "When lessons are learned, hardships endured, and loneliness lived, then it will be time." Time passed. The child asked, "Is it time?" Jesus parted the clouds and looked and said, "No, not yet child" The child asked, "When will it be time?" Jesus replied, "When maturity is reached, self-worth affirmed and spirits strengthened, then it will be time." Time passed. The child asked, "Is it time?" Jesus parted the clouds, looked and said, "Their love is strong and their hearts are open. Yes, now it is time -"Your family is ready." ~Author Unknown

ALANNA

We met our girl today!  We found out that we have been mispronouncing her name.  It rhymes with banana. She is beautiful, friendly, sweet, and kind.  She is understandably a little guarded about these people who clam to be her, "forever family", but she seemed to warm up fairly quickly.
We now have hundred of pages of, "disclosure" to go through before the social worker, Alanna, and the foster parents come to visit us next Wednesday.  Just what we've read so far is unbelievably heartbreaking.

      Here's Alanna Banana................

We Meet Our Girl Tomorrow!

We finally got an updated photo!  The first one we saw was over two years old.  This picture was taken 6/10/10, the day she was told we would be her forever family.  She now has an album with pictures of the family, animals, yard, etc.  It sounds like she's pretty impressed with the animals.  The humans may have to work a little harder to gain her trust, but after 7 homes in 5 1/5 years, what would we expect.
Tomorrow we will finally get to meet her!

IT'S A GIRL!

She is 10 years old, and has been in foster care since she was 5.  ALANNA  has no idea that her world is about to be turned upside down!  Please pray that God will prepare her heart for her new family.  HE is already preparing her new family's heart for her!

Adopting one child won't change the world; but for that child, the world will change!

Jesus, Friend of Sinners by Casting Crowns

Jesus, friend of sinners, we have strayed so far away
We cut down people in your name but the sword was never ours to swing
Jesus, friend of sinners, the truth's become so hard to see
The world is on their way to You but they're tripping over me
Always looking around but never looking up I'm so double minded
A plank eyed saint with dirty hands and a heart divided

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to the world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9Kcm2OAWNA
