NEVER TRUST A COOKIE....
...especially if you're allergic to peanuts.
Evonne learned that the hard way last night. Her, usually flawless,
peanut radar failed her last night, and she ate a cookie with peanut
butter in it. Thanks to speedy paramedics and a trip to the hospital in the aid car she is fine today.
She has learned to ask before she eats a cookie (not after). Even if it
doesn't look or smell like it has peanuts and no matter how many
chocolate chips it has in it.
In the car on the way home from the hospital she said, "The bright side is that it was a really good cookie". Leave it to Evonne to find the bright side in that experience. The bright side as far as we are concerned is that she is OK!

State Fair
Alanna qualified to show at the State Fair this year.
So, after some stiff, nerve shattering competition,
She did herself proud!
The whole Team did their club and county proud,
When the showing was over, we took a little time to have some fun at the fair.
And after a few hours of crowds, and expensive food and entertainment, there was one mama who was very ready for the long drive home!

Goodbye Summer :(
Sadly, the summer is winding down.
The peaches are in the freezer,
The apples are ripening,
Bedrooms have had a badly needed cleaning,
The trees are showing their true colors,
Friends have come to visit,
Projects (with creative touches) have been completed,
and school curriculum has been organized for another school year.
It's time to start getting up at the break of dawn
(harder for some us than others),
and get back to the routine of school days.
I feel very blessed to be starting my 18th year of homeschooling.
What a privilege!
It's all GOOD!
I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. John 17:15 ESV
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 ESV

Jesus, Friend of Sinners by Casting Crowns
Jesus, friend of sinners, we have strayed so far away
We cut down people in your name but the sword was never ours to swing
Jesus, friend of sinners, the truth's become so hard to see
The world is on their way to You but they're tripping over me
Always looking around but never looking up I'm so double minded
A plank eyed saint with dirty hands and a heart divided
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to the world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9Kcm2OAWNA

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
