WE HAVE A NEW GRADUATE!

Stephanie graduated this morning, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Worship, with a minor in Children, Youth, and Family Studies, Outdoor Ministries

The choir also performed (she is on the far right by the flag)

Trinity Lutheran College Class of 2011!

Look out world!  Now she's armed with a diploma!  YOU GO, GIRL!  We love ya!

The Babies

Well, the babies are all grown up and ready to go out into the world and have their own lives.  Things move fast in the Guinea Pig World!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Mother's Day started like every other Sunday morning with breakfast in bed for Doug and I, prepared by me (trust me, it's for the best, the man can fix anything unless it's supposed to be edible).

Then we were chauffeured to church by Tyler who never turns down a opportunity to get behind the wheel (we gotta get that boy a chauffeur's hat)

At church I received a rose for the mother with the most children ( only because Cindi wasn't there, she has eight) 

Alanna had a fever,  so Mandy stayed home with her while the rest of us went to church.  When we got home I was greeted by a beautiful banner Alanna and Mandy created for me.

Evonne presented me with a poem that I will cherish forever.  God has big plans for this girl!  She is proof that there is hope for kids who never learned how to love or how to be loved until they became a part of their forever family.  Click on the picture to enlarge it to read, but first grab a Kleenex or two!

Doug spent the day working on a project for me.  We have the goat and the chickens in a pen that they have lived in for about five years.  Without going into a lot of detail, can you imagine how fertile it would be if we could plow that up and plant a garden in there?

That is what the plan is, but first we have to move the goat and chickens which is where my handyman comes in, and of course, like most of my ideas,  it's never as simple as I think it's going to be!

 

We ended the day with a dinner of Pioneer women's Chicken Spaghetti and Layered Salad .

I prepared it because my chef's were busy studying.  I did have some help from my assistant chef's though.

And we had a delicious strawberry shortcake for dessert

Litter #2 is here!

Maddie had her babies at about 10:00 this morning.  She had three, one (red) was stillborn.  The other two (one brindle, one red) and Maddie are doing fine.  They are already playing with the members of litter #1.

  

More New Life

    We are still waiting for Guinea Pig Litter #2 (trust me, so is the poor Guinea Pig!).  In the meantime, we have had other new life at our house that is noteworthy.

  It all started with this box that came in the mail......

  With a container of  five, very tiny, Painted Lady caterpillars inside......

The container was full of something for them to eat, and eat, and they grew and grew......

Until it was time to hang upside down, and for the chrysalids to form around their bodies............

to hide the miracle that is taking place inside..........

Only God could pull that off!!
