Basic Training

   Tyler called Saturday afternoon.  He is doing OK, and he sounded good.  He is 1/3 of the way through, and anxious to get the rest of it behind him.  
   The pictures are from the Facebook page for "Charlie Company 2-47 Infantry".  He is one of 220 SIT's (soldiers in training) in that company.  I do know that his team is blue, so that narrows it down to about 50.
   The first two pictures we are 99% sure are him, the other two may or may not be him.

This is Really It! Goodbye Ty!

   

 Saying goodbye is never easy.

 The practice run through that we had 5 weeks ago made it a little easier this time.

 But, only because he was just so darn ready to GO!

 I will always be grateful for the blessing of 

those extra 5 weeks.

 We sure are going to miss you, Ty!  

You are going to make one heck of a soldier!

Goodbye Beard

HE IS RISEN!

He is Risen!  What does that really mean?

To me, it’s the greatest gift of all the gifts ever given.  A  gift  NOBODY can ever earn and NOBODY will ever deserve.  It  Is  the  ultimate  gift  given  freely through pure unconditional LOVE by our Creator!     

It means:  Freedom from the burden of sin

It means:  A new start

It means:  Adoption

It means:  Death is conquered

It means:  HOPE

Not coincidentally, Easter comes at a time when our part of the world is also coming back to life.

 Mother Goose on her nest

While Father Goose keeps watch for  the enemy.

Even the weeds look good!

The egg machines are back in business.

New life is popping up around every corner.

                       Of course around every other corner lurks                    something threatening to the new life.

So we have to take precautions.

No matter how innocent that threat may seem.

5 More Weeks!

   Tyler did not ship because he has a smashed finger and missing nail that need to heal before they can let him go.  So, we are blessed to have another 5 more weeks with him home!  He's very disappointed because he really wants to get basic training behind him.  His new ship date is May 19th.

BIG NEWS

Now this is news.......

We have been 2+ years without a dishwasher 

(well, we did have Evonne, but we had to depend on her schedule). But today, this big, white, truck brought us....

this little beauty!

After a little hiccup in the installation, it was ready to go.  Now all we have to do is rinse, load, and push a button whenever we want clean dishes!  

It's made itself right at home, and hopefully will faithfully serve us for many years. Now I have to find Evonne a new job.
